Are There Any Homeschooling Groups Near Me?

One of the first things I looked for when thinking about home educating was local groups. To be honest, it was a nightmare as some of these groups were hidden, some had bizarre names and something which I quickly discovered was that the term “homeschooling” was a no-no.

The term many like to use is “home education” and that is why I really struggled to find Facebook groups and communities online in the beginning.

However, at times in this article, I will still use the term “Homeschooling” purely because I hope people find this article after doing some research on Google or a similar search engine.

Home Schooling Groups In My Area.

Below you will find hundreds of different Facebook groups and I have tried to put them all into the regional areas for you. I have no doubt there are some I haven’t found yet, but I will try to update this every couple of weeks.

Inside each FB group, you normally find out about local clubs, meetups and lots more.

Before we move into the regional groups I will also share some national ones which I have found to be a great help.

National FB Home Educator & Schooling Groups.

Single Parent Home Education UK

This is one of the best groups I am currently in, there is a wealth of information in here and everyone is really nice, I always see posts by an admin called Pip Lane who is lovely and they have fun posts too on a weekend which is nothing to do with home education. Pick a song, Saturday night sillies and lots more.

Home Schooling/Education UK

Another great group I regularly visit is this one, currently, there are over 30,000 members and the members will always help you out with any questions you may have.

PopArt Home Education

The PopArt Home Ed group has been running for six years now, The group is a place where you will find discounted educational resources for the benefit of the home educating community.

Homeschooling Resources

Inside here you will find lots of free resources, recommendations, discounts and much more.

HE Gamer Friends

We all know how kids are with video games, how they like to go off into their own little worlds!

The main concern you may have is who is your child talking to while online? In this group fellow members of the home ed community can share contact details so our children can play together on these consoles and we can discuss things such as appropriate games and advice!
